New Zealand Hack and Pony Council Inc

Welcome to the New Zealand Hack and Pony Council Inc.
After going into recession for a few years, New Zealand Hack and Pony Council was reformed in 2005 with the purpose of running a Premier North Island Championship Show.
In 2006, the show was run over 1.5 days with ridden classes only.
After the huge success of the 2006 show it was expanded in 2007 to include both led and ridden sections.
The show has been held on the first weekend of February at Claudelands in Hamilton.
2008 Show Dates 2 and 3 February.

15 December 2007 – Auckland – Ramsey property, Spur Road, Silverdale
16 December 2007 – Waikato – Te Rapa Racecourse,
10.30am start.

Topics covered will include: plaiting, tails, clipping and trimming, clothing, saddlery, makeup…
Other topics by request.
Come and learn from the experts how to turn your horse/pony and rider out to best advantage for the show ring.
Cost: $20 per person.
Sausage sizzle and cold drinks available.
All funds raised will go towards the North Island Premier Showing Championships, 2-3 February 2008

Teams Challenge
Is your team the best in the North Island?
Great prizes for the top three teams.
Teams of four – one horse/pony = 1 team member.
Riders may ride more than one horse or pony.
No horse or pony can be in more than one team. Any combination of horses/ponies per team. Teams compete as individuals over the show; scores will be added from all results. Points per horse or pony will count only from a maximum of 2 nominated sections plus led section.
Extra points for title classes or championships.
Entry Fee $20 per team.

June News
Show this year will run over 2 full days.
Show planning well under way and we hope to have confirmation of the 3 Australian judges in the next month or so.
Always looking for more sponsors & donations of trophies etc so anyone interested please contact our secretary Diane Trillo.
The Committee is working really hard to make this a really Premier event.
The Programme has gone through some changes and improvements from last year. Most notably an improved lead section with more classes & now a lead turnout for both ponies & hacks. These will be advised at a later date.

Stallion Tender to run again this year with some really lovely stallions on offer & others to be confirmed. We hope to have a mix of breeds from several disciplines so you broodmare owners WATCH this Space.
